Hand crafted lariats and Indian jewellery from Jaipur.

India is famous for its traditional handcrafted ethnic jewellery. This type comes from the princely city of Bikaner in the state of Rajasthan, in the heart of the Thar desert. The main occupation there is manufacturing of handicrafts, furniture and jewellery. This is a fair trade product made by artisans (often the whole family is involved). They work from home or their own workshop and the craftmanship is passed on from one generation to the next. It takes nine different craftmen to produce each piece of jewellery and from start to finish around 15 man hours are spent to complete a medium size necklace. The end result is a unique handcrafted and beautiful piece of jewellery which I hope you will enjoy wearing for many years to come.
